is happening in the world of physics. Later this year, using a 10-20 billion dollar particle accelerator genius Arkani-Hamed and his team of scientists will be able to test the viability of the string theory. The article can be found HERE.
If the string theory is indeed proven to be true then it will force us to look at the world in an entirely new light. Essentially this theory supports two interesting findings for the non-scientific people out there – such as myself.
- holographic principle: In a larger sense, the theory suggests that the entire universe can be seen as a two dimensional information structure “painted” on a boundary surface, and that the three dimensions we observe are illusory. *source: Wikipedia
- theory of everything (TOE): theory of theoretical physics that fully explains and links together all known physical phenomena
Perhaps Buddhists, Hindus and psychedelic drug users were right when they said – reality is an “illusion” and all is one. What does this say about consciousness though?
NOTE: Hopefully some physics savvy people can give me some comments, I’m clearly out of my element on this post (hence all the wikipedia).
